JESUS CHRIST OUR EVERLASTING HOPE!

My #salvation does not hinge on my emotions. I have an official record. I have the word of God: "These things have l written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life"--1 John 5:13

Three things by God assures us that we have eternal life:1.The #promises of His word, 2.The #witness of the Spirit in our hearts, 3.The #transforming work of the Spirit in our lives!

"What were we made for? To know God. What aim should we have in life? To know God. What is the eternal life that Jesus gives? To know God. What is the best thing in life? To know God. What in humans gives God most pleasure? Knowledge of Himself."--J.I.Packer

Hope is a virtue that directs one to God who alone can satisfy all human longings.

Whenever our human longings or desires are met we are happy and we find #HOPE. However, what life teaches us is that all the things that gives us hope and happiness on this earth is affected by time.

For example when l was growing up l saw people build certain houses l thought were the most beautiful houses but today those who built those houses will themselves not build those same styles of houses because those houses have become the ugliest l can see now. Time has affected the beauty of those houses.

You're single and you are thinking when l marry l will be the happiest person but you only have to get married and soon realized that the first stage of marriage is regret. When you begin to see certain things about your spouse you will be thinking, "l wish l married someone else". It is time that has affected your hope and expectations.

You're praying for a job and thinking you will be happy when you gain employment but after getting a job you will soon realize that you can't be happy because what you earn cannot meet your needs. Time has affected your hope!

Recently, my Doctor admitted me at the hospital and throughout the night all of us in that male ward couldn't sleep because of a patient in the ward who was constantly shouting because he was in pain. I learned that your ability to sleep at night is a blessing. There are people who can't sleep at night because they're constantly in pain. You just have to visit the hospital very often and learn that having fat bank account is not the only thing you should call a blessing. Good #health, #peace and #joy is a great blessing. That is why whenever God talks about blessings in the Bible it doesn't refer to money but it often means being empowered to succeed.

Beyond all the fleeting beauties and glories the world can offer, man desires more than these: eternal life. But since God alone is eternal, only He can tell us why and how. Jesus alone can give the answer. Indeed, He is the answer.

You know, eternal life does not start when we go to heaven. It starts the moment you reach out to Jesus. He never turns His back on anyone. And He is waiting for you!

Eternal life is not a gift from God ; eternal life is the gift of God!

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who condescended to come into this world of misery, struggle, and pain to touch men's hearts for good, to teach the way of eternal life, and to give Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. How different, how empty our lives would be without Him. How infinite is our opportunity for exaltation made possible through His redeeming love!

I have been trying to communicate to you that nothing can satisfy you on this earth. All things that gives us hope and happiness on this earth is affected by time. Hope is a virtue that must direct us to God(Jesus) who alone can satisfy all human longings.

May the Lord Jesus Christ satisfy the spiritual emptiness in your soul as you seek Him for everlasting life! May the Lord be gracious and merciful to you! AMEN!
