Jerusalem Calling

It’s old news by now (of course it would break the day after my newsletter), but considering that the Hezbollah pager and walkie-talkie explosions last week constituted probably the most effective singular counterterrorism operation in history, I think it’s worth contemplating how and why for anyone that may not be aware or may have even fallen for misinformation surrounding the just stunning and magnificent ‘Operation Beep Beep Motherf——’. Fog of war being what it is, I can’t tell you nearly as much as future historians will detail or probably even the Hollywood blockbuster that will follow in a decade or two. But I can tell you some.

The first thing that should be noted is that, historically speaking, this is unprecedented. I cannot think of a single example from history in which thousands of enemy combatants spread out across an entire country were simultaneously rendered “wounded in action” or worse through a single covert operation. Can you? When has anything like this happened before? It somewhat parallels the utterly perfect pre-emptive strike that launched the ‘Six Day War’ (and especially now that things are really heating up at the border), but as for this type of operation I am left without precedent.

What we know so far is that two separate waves of explosions rocked Hezbollah’s world, one on Tuesday targeting pagers, and one on Wednesday targeting walkie-talkies. I have seen speculation that there were explosives added to the equipment somewhere along the way, as batteries can’t be reliably detonated on that sort of scale. It seems likely that this was the case, but I am not going to guess at the unknowns. The supply chain had to have been infiltrated at some point and to such an extent that borders on absurdity. You’d think after Stuxnet Iran would’ve tightened security…all security. Guess they’re as incompetent as ever. Which is a plus considering Khamenei is the most soft-looking and soft-spoken genocidal maniac in history.

The pager explosions injured thousands of Hezbollah mid-level management, followed by hundreds more from (no) walkie-(no)-talkies (also among the injured were supposedly a few IRGC terrorists and Khamenei’s personal stooges for the Iranian regime—why, however did they get in bed with Hezbollah terrorists?). The explosions were also forceful enough to kill a dozen plus in both waves. The many that survived will live with crippling injuries, especially to their eyesight, hands, or groin. A perfectly executed operation to strategically cripple Hezbollah by taking their planning and logistics (and disco sticks) to the ER, and with minimal collateral damage. Truly one for the history books. Who knows how many lives will be saved in the long run thanks to Agents Sam Sung and Moe Torola blowing off a few terrorist gonads.

The takeaway lesson here is that if you want to be a terrorist, you’re going to need to sacrifice for it. Eyes, hands, testicles. Choose two. You can mix-and-match.

I should note that Mossad, Israel’s chief intelligence and spec-ops network, has not as of yet claimed responsibility for the operation; nor have any other governmental agents for the Jewish nation. The reasons for this are plain from the fact that every single time Israel fights back against terrorism, the world gets in an uproar and starts blaming Israel for every death in war everywhere, global warming, nuclear armageddon…or at least accusations just as absurd. And, Mossad has their trademark spycraft mystique to cultivate. They don’t run around telling every man, woman, and child that they’re Bond…James Bond. That would just be silly. Isn’t that right, Agent Copter?…Eli…Copter. Old joke. Moving on.

It is safe to assume however that Israel through Mossad or some other avenue at least had a major part in the operation. Hezbollah operates their terror operations from their neighbor Lebanon’s backyard with impunity. For almost a year unprovoked Hezbollah rocket attacks have forced around a hundred thousand Israelis to be internally displaced from their homes in the north of the country. That’s over one percent of the entire population. Can you just imagine if millions of Americans had to flee the north of our country due to non-stop terrorist attacks from Canada?

And that’s what makes the world’s uproar this time around particularly…hypocritical, let’s say. Name ANY other country that would tolerate these unimaginable levels of aggression and casus belli for an ENTIRE YEAR before making so much as an opening move. I know that if it were America instead of Israel in that position, the entire south of Lebanon would have been obliterated before the first Hezbollah rocket even landed. I’m not saying that’s a good thing—merely stating a fact. Israel has the highest tolerance out of any nation on Earth for the cruelty of humanity targeted against them. The mercy they demonstrate for enemies that want them wiped off the planet is an inspiration to compassion on par with (or better than) Jesus.

Yet uproar, the world has indeed. It gets its kicks from wagging its finger at Jews and shaming them for having the audacity to survive every genocidal attack that comes their way. Like the United Nations, which just held its umpteenth vote condemning Israel while conveniently forgetting ALL OF THE AGGRESSORS AGAINST THE JEWISH NATION. Like Iran, and Hezbollah, and Hamas, and the Houthis, and Fatah, and PIJ, and Qatar (yes, Qatar—and especially Al Jazeera). Not a single word of condemnation from the “United” Nations on any of them. But those darn Jews…

As Elie Wiesel said in his 1986 Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, “I trust Israel, for I have faith in the Jewish people. Let Israel be given a chance, let hatred and danger be removed from her horizons, and there will be peace in and around the Holy Land.”

Following the pager pop-off extravaganza, tensions have only risen between Israel and Hezbollah. Rocket exchanges are making headlines (and actually the latest one is ‘Israel warns residents in southern Lebanon to evacuate…’). Seemingly everyone is hoping things don’t get any worse, myself included. The thing to understand though is that Israel’s war with Hezbollah has been absolutely inevitable for a very long time. Hezbollah has tens (possibly hundreds) of thousands of rockets pointed directly at the Jewish nation. The proxies of the Islamic Republic of Iran obey their master, and their master says to kill Jews at any cost. And they will not stop trying until they themselves are six feet under or permanently locked in a cell and throw away the key. Anything less is underestimating the ideology of hate that has consumed them. It is evil incarnate. And evil must be destroyed, no matter the cost. Because the cost of not fighting evil is greater yet.

I pray for peace over Jerusalem and over the whole Earth. One day soon, we shall have it.
