The Jeep? brand is More than Just a Vehicle Name for Mohamed Al Rayyes, President of The Jeep Community
This month and continuing with Jeep? Middle East’s interview series with some of the region’s largest Jeep clubs, the brand spoke with Mohamed Al Rayyes, Jeep enthusiast and President of The Jeep Community, one of the most well-known Jeep clubs in the United Arab Emirates and wider region.
“The moment I hear the word ‘Jeep’, strong off-road capabilities, ruggedness, and freedom, immediately jumps to my mind. This, along with the unique community that shares the unparalleled enthusiasm for this vehicle like no other brand out there,” said Mohamed when asked what it is exactly that he loves most about the Jeep brand.
“The Jeep brand really is perfectly suited for the Middle East, especially with its amazing range of models that suits the needs of all customers, from the compact Compass that is ideal for day-to-day city use, to the Wrangler with its unmatched off-road capabilities and sportiness that can easily conquer all terrains,” he continued. “The Gladiator is also the best Overlander in the market and then we have the Grand Cherokee that has always been a true icon in the SUV segment and is great for family use. And then there’s the new Grand Wagoneer, which offers unbelievable technology, comfort, luxury, and capabilities with its whooping 493hp and 670Nm torque engine output. I believe it’s going to give other brands in the same category a very strong competition that is hard to beat.”
Mohamed launched The Jeep Community club to keep Jeep enthusiasts across the UAE connected and provide them the opportunity to share experiences and meet other adrenaline junkies who share the desire of exploring the country and wider region’s new off-road terrains.
“I don’t prefer to call what we have a “club”, because we’re already part of this community the moment we own a Jeep vehicle and share the same enthusiasm for the brand. When I first started this community, I didn’t have the intention to name it either, but rather just create a space for a group of friends to be able to enjoy our shared hobby and enthusiasm for Jeep vehicles. A platform for adventurous souls,” he said. “After that, the community kept growing more as more people enjoyed our unique drives and invited even more of their friends to join along and become part of our community. So, I ended up naming it what it already is. The Jeep Community.”
Mohamed is the current owner of a Jeep Wrangler, which also happens to be his favorite Jeep vehicle. “Of course, it’s my favorite car within the Jeep brand portfolio. It’s the descendant of the Jeep Willys and it will always be the best and the only true off-road terrain conqueror as it has consistently maintained its front solid axle approach until today. I believe that this is what will always distinguish it as a true off-road vehicle.” Said Mohamed.
With access to approximately 2,000 Jeep vehicles locally, a WhatsApp group comprising of over 230 participants and growing, and the community’s Instagram account, which has amassed over 46 thousand organic followers from across the globe, The Jeep Community welcomes any Jeep owner to join.Those interested can become a member by sending a Direct Message on their Instagram or directly through any of the club admins on @The_Jeep_Community.
“If someone doesn’t happen to own a Jeep vehicle, he or she is still welcome to join because they’ll soon realize their mistake and end up buying one anyway. We have that kind of impact,” said Mohamed. “There is no other vehicle that offers such an amazing community the way the Jeep brand does. If I find out you drive a Jeep vehicle, we are close friends by default and we automatically share this unexplainable bond. It’s a Jeep thing.”
