THE JOINT BUILDING CONTRACTS COMMITTEE NPC
(JBCC) is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to oversee the day-to-day operations of the JBCC delivering on the Board of Director’s approved annual plans, budgets, and strategies.
- Actioning the JBCC objectives and resolutions as determined by the Board.
- Preparing and presenting the CEO report at Board meetings as well as the annual report for Board AGM.
- Manage financial expenditure together with FinCom.
- Liaise with accountants and auditors for the compilation of management accounts and audited financial statements.
- Uphold the governance strategy of the organization and support the Board in realising the vision and mission of the organization.
- Staff Management.
- Stakeholder engagement.
- Develop a sales strategy and establish and manage performance against sales targets.
- Marketing the organisation and its products to the industry users at large.
- Outreach activities.
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in the built environment.
- At least 15 years’ experience in the built environment of which at least 5 years have been in a management position.
- Understanding of JBCC agreements and contracts.
- Understanding of contract law would be advantageous.
- Experience and skill working with a Board of Directors would be advantageous.
- Transparent and high integrity leadership.
- High level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, the Board, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
- A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.
- Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including CIDB, Public Works/Public Sector Clients, Professional Councils/Voluntary Organisations , etc.
- Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong public speaking ability.
- Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
The JBCC is a Non-Profit Company, representative of building owners and developers, professional consultants and general and specialist contractors who contribute their knowledge and experiences to the compilation of the JBCC documents that:?
- Portray the consensus view of the constituent members;
- Are published in the interests of standardisation and good practice;
- With an equitable distribution of contractual risk;
- For use throughout Africa – and elsewhere!
