Be sure to monitor your parcel invoices regularly - UPS announced changes that will impact your parcel spend.
Effective March 31, 2025:
- Print Invoice Fee: A fee of $5.00 per invoice copy will apply for each printed copy of a UPS invoice sent to shippers or other payors.
- Check Fee and Wire Fee: Payments made by check or wire transfer on or after March 31, 2025 will be assessed a fee of $25.00 per payment.? This fee will not apply to ACH payments.
- The Late Payment Fee will increase from 8% to 9.9% of the total past due invoice balance, including past due late fees.
- Effective March 10, 2025, the U.S. Ground Domestic and the UPS SurePost? Fuel Surcharge and the U.S. Domestic Air Fuel Surcharge will change.
- A Payment Processing Fee equal to 2% of all other invoice charges will be added to each invoice.
- The Credit Card Surcharge will no longer apply.
- FedEx filed a lawsuit against MyPillow, claiming they are owed nearly $9 million for shipping services.
- A FedEx plane struck a bird while departing Newark Airport, New Jersey, last week and made an emergency landing with one engine on fire. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
- Thirteen people were charged for their alleged role in intercepting logistics tracking data to steal thousands of iPhones and other expensive devices from people’s doorsteps across the US. Some of the defendants, who were either based in the Dominican Republic or the US, allegedly siphoned package information from a tool?FedEx Corp.?and telecommunication companies use to exchange data between apps and services.?
- 3 UPS locations in Indiana expected to close
- The U.S. Postal Service launched its Priority Next Day offering last Saturday with availability in 54 markets currently. The next-day delivery service, available through direct USPS contracts,?covers addresses within 150 miles?of regional processing and distribution centers. Packages weighing up to 20 pounds can be entered at participating locations.
- WSJ - AlixPartners studied 30 retailers & found that on average only 9% of their online women’s clothing assortment was available in physical stores. Retail CEOs like to say they want customers to shop however they want—either online, in stores or a combination of the two. Per WSJ, the reality is that they make more money when customers buy from physical stores because packing and shipping expenses eat into online profits.?
