JAWS !
SHARKS: Who amongst us more mature members watched Jaws and had a healthy fear of the sea for the last 4 decades? Who has watched countless Bond movies with death by shark? Did you know there is a counter argument that generally sharks don't attack people and often when they do it's in the belief that they are seal hunting ?!
It struck me as a hugh parallel with perception of situation in business v the reality we often face (not always) when we feel the fear and try it anyway. There is massive conditioning from an early age that we CANNOT FAIL - SO WE DO NOT TRY new / risky stuff.
When we take the risk and fail it is easy to retreat. Even thought we know success often comes from multiple failures. I suggested my daughter try to get 100 job rejection letters. She got to around 60 - then a job offer came! Try a counter intuitive approach / game-ification. But whatever happens keep moving forward.
That said pregnant or not I wouldn't swim adjacent to a 20ft killing machine !

5 年I would also not swim next to a shark. What is she goes, "I feel like trying something exotic for my dinner tonight".? Yes, failure to be OK with failure is what gets in our way. Great message, Chris.?

5 年Great point you make here!? We allow ideas and beliefs to take root, often on false information, and then allow it to shape us for so many years!I did indeed have that feeling whenever I had my head underwater - even if it was only the shallow end! ;-)?
