JASIRI SPIRIT IGNITES: DAYSTAR ALUMNI RALLY FOR MENTORSHIP AND LEADERSHIP

The inaugural Alumni Breakfast was the hallmark event of the Jasiri Mentorship Program and was joined by Daystar University alumni who had distinguished themselves.

This event was an important milestone for the university but also, once again, underscored the far-reaching impact of our view of education and lifelong relationships that are forged amongst alumni.

A Beacon of #Courage and #Leadership Located in the core of Nairobi, Daystar University has always been a crucible for leadership and professional excellence since its first dawn.

In decades of excellent service, developed leaders who thrive in sectors underpinned by a steadfast commitment to ethical values and community service. The Jasiri Mentorship Program, named after the Swahili word for 'brave,' is the latest of these initiatives, architected to inspire and prepare the next generation of leadership with the skills necessary for effective navigation and success within complex, global landscapes. The event was graced by a rich mixture of alumni, drawn from across graduation years and professions, but all united by the Daystar experience and a great desire to contribute towards the Jasiri initiative. "The alumni are key in shaping the networks of vibrant support for the empowerment and growth of the current students," said Professor Laban Ayiro, Vice-Chancellor, Daystar University.

Sharing his personal growth story from a humble neighborhood in Nairobi, Professor Ayiro was very emphatic on the significance of mentorship in his life, hence demonstrating the power of guidance and support.

Inspiring a Love of Great Food Breakfast panel characterized by heartfelt exchanges and strategic discussions: How can alumni take an active role in mentoring and developing student leaders?

The alumni had returned to gather their support for the Jasiri programme, hence acting as symbolic activities meant to strengthen the ties between past and present constituents of the University.
