One of the main reasons I love being a realtor is because I get to be a part of building communities. I have the privilege of helping to guide individuals and families into the communities that will help them build and achieve their dreams. Throughout this process, people let me into their lives and trust me with their struggles and joys. I am regularly moved to action by the stories my clients tell me, but until now, those actions were for the most part one-off opportunities to give back.
In 2016, my good friend Mark Cheeley and Park Nicollet Foundation board member invited me to join him at the Park Nicollet Struthers Parkinson’s Center Golf and Bridge Challenge. With the partnership of Park Nicollet Foundation, this event raised funds to support programs for people with Parkinson's disease that provide exercise, spiritual care, relaxation, creative expression, socialization and care-partner respite. I spent the day listening to the experiences of people living with Parkinson’s disease and the Struthers family. I also witnessed the incredible community that supports people with Parkinson’s disease and the Struthers Parkinson’s Center, and I was inspired and moved. I wanted to learn more.
Park Nicollet Foundation’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of patients, families and community through partnerships and philanthropy. For 44 years, Park Nicollet Foundation’s impact has touched people throughout our community, in our schools, and in Park Nicollet clinics, specialty centers and Methodist Hospital. In the last year alone, Park Nicollet Foundation’s incredible donors gave $7.5 million in support, which was turned into immunizations for children in need, housing resources for individuals recovering from eating disorders, aromatherapy patches to help cancer patients with nausea, special services to honor veterans in hospice care, mammograms for women in underserved communities, diabetes education programs and so much more.
I was sold. I had found something I could dedicate myself to that had a mission, programs and impact that I believe in. Park Nicollet Foundation also has a reach and diversity of programs that could touch the lives of so many of the communities my clients and I help create. I am thrilled to announce that I have joined Park Nicollet Foundation’s Board of Directors!
I look forward to sharing with you more about the work of Park Nicollet Foundation and opportunities for you to join me in giving back.
We're so pleased to have you on the board! Thank you for making a difference and giving back! Elizabeth Warner, CFRE
