Jaqui's summer reading list

Jaqui's summer reading list

What a year for ... well, everything, including books.

As usual I've been reading and writing books, helping others write and publish their business books and buying books to add to my 'to read' pile.

If you're short of inspiration for what to read over the summer break here in the Southern Hemisphere I've put together a list of books I've read, or want to, to help you shortcut either the Christmas book buying question for others or your own reading.

This year there's a number of fiction books on my list. I have to thank the Book Club I am part of for this. I used to say, 'I am not a fiction girl'. It turns out I am.

So. Here we go. I've divided the list into fiction and non fiction.

Non fiction

  1. Homo Deus . A Brief History of Tomorrow, Yuval Noah Harari
  2. Hitler and Stalin , The Tyrants and the Second World War, Laurence Rees
  3. The Muslims are Coming, Arun Kundnani
  4. The Colony, A history of early Sydney , Grace Karskens
  5. The Syrian Jihad, The Evolution of an Insurgency, Charles R Lister
  6. The Hype Machine, How social media disrupts our elections, economy, and our health and how we must adapt, Sinan Arai

In addition to....

I've been fortunate to work with over 20 outstanding, interesting and knowledgeable business owners, consultants, thinkers and doers who are published their book in 2021, are in the process of writing their book or planning to launch their book in 2022. You can check out some of our clients on our website The Book Adviser.

As Kerry Howells shares in her book, Untangling You, being grateful is a joy, sometimes it takes some work, in my case not. Every day I am energised and grateful to be working with deeply committed and passionate people who want to share their knowledge with the world.

Thank you Nigel Baker, Darryl Lovegrove , Marc Bineham , Ashley Saltzman , Annie McCubbin , Rachel Service, Matt Levy, Greg Weiss , Garry Browne , Kerry Howells ,
