The Japanese Women's Initiative in The Bay Area has just released two impressive, thorough, and revelatory DEI reports discussing the experiences of Japanese expatriates in Silicon Valley.
Career Development of Silicon Valley Expatriates
JWIBA interviewed 42 Japanese men and women who have experienced expatriation and repatriation. The group questioned respondents about their Silicon Valley experiences and industry opinions regarding gender and opportunity equality.
The results are staggering, with women showing more tenacious perseverance than their male colleagues. The study showed that 74% of women pursued Silicon Valley positions of their own volition, compared to 36% of men, despite fewer available opportunities.
