Modern glazed extension to Grade II Georgian Villa
An Edinburgh Georgian Villa has been beautifully expanded and remodelled to accommodate contemporary living requirements.?
The listed Georgian property extension was designed by Lorn Macneal Architects to maximise usable living space with lots of natural light and easy access to the stone courtyard garden.?
To create the new, light-filled library, the opulent Edinburgh villa underwent a glass side infill extension with a frameless effect structural glass roof including a gable end. In order to install the structural glass roof seamlessly from wall to wall and comply with Building Regulations for this Grade II listed building in Scotland, IQ collaborated with the architects to devise a fitting solution.?
The high-performance triple-glazed slim sliding glass doors on either side of the new kitchen/dining area were essential to this glazed addition in Edinburgh City.?
Bury Gate Farm | A modern interpretation of a country house
Bury Gate Farm | A replacement dwelling in the South Downs challenges the status quo of country house design.
A new modern villa was designed with floor to ceiling frameless high performance glazing, creating a permeable fa?ade offering uninterrupted views out to the sequence of the south facing colonnades.
Oversized casement windows and doors are installed throughout the modern villa, framing far reaching views to the South Downs National Park.?
The generous frameless effect glass works in harmony with aged effect water struck bricks creating a cohesive modern design.?
The new Parkland villa, Bury Gate farm, featured in the RIBA Journal, and celebrates modern design that puts people and place at the heart of the build.

Wow, your highlights from Edinburgh to the South Downs sound breathtaking! ?? It reminds me of what Vincent Van Gogh said, "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." Maybe the sheer scale of your projects can inspire even greater ones, like the Guinness World Record for Tree Planting. ????
