In the first month of 2023, many mandatory implementations began in the tax world. At the same time, there were many updates but also postponements. We would like to share with you all the developments in the sector in this one-month period.

Serbia News: Serbia’s mandatory electronic invoicing implementation started gradually in 2022. E-Invoice creation, transmission, and archiving became mandatory for B2B transactions in January 2023. You can find detailed information about the process here .

Portugal News: In Portugal, QR Code requirements started in January 2022. The use of ATCUD codes was delayed but became mandatory in January 2023. You can find other important information about the process in our news . In addition to ATCUD code implementation, SAF-T accounting file obligation was postponed until January 1, 2024. Greece News: The Greek Tax Office released a major announcement about myDATA requirements, which includes updates on data transmission schedules and industry-specific requirements. You can read additional information about the process and its updates here .

UDI Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Key Questions: KSA is one of the countries that has implemented the medical device reporting system. For medium-risk (class B and C) and high-risk (class D) devices, the process started in September 2023. Implementation for low-risk devices (class A) will begin in September 2024. Philippines Webinar: Mandatory e-Invoice implementation in the Philippines started in January 2023. The regulation covers both B2B invoice and B2C receipt transactions. The BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) released the new Electronic Invoicing/Receipting System (EIS). On Wednesday, February 1, we will host a webinar entitled "How business can drive successful e-Invoice transformation in the Philippines”.?We will discuss various points regarding the rules governing e-Invoices and what is expected of businesses in the Philippines. Bolivia News: The electronic invoicing mandate has started for certain groups of taxpayers in Bolivia. New planned timeline and other details have been announced by the Bolivian Tax Administration (SIN). The third group of taxpayers’ implementation deadlines details have been postponed from 1 December 2022 until 1 February 2023. You can read all the news here .

Paraguay News: Paraguay’s pilot e-Invoice implementation scheme started for 246 companies in July 2022. The scope of the obligation will expand gradually. The implementation process started for the first group of new taxpayers on January 2, 2023. From April 3, 2023, the second group of taxpayers will also be under the obligation. Denmark News: The requirement for businesses to keep digital records has been postponed, according to an announcement from the Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen, or ERST). January 2024 is the planned start date for the first digital invoicing and record keeping timeline. The ERST will publish an updated implementation schedule and further technical details about the new digital criteria in 2023.
