January newsletter - meet Cohort 6!

January newsletter - meet Cohort 6!

80 more founders have started their Carbon13 journey!

We applaud each member of this cohort for choosing to dedicate their time and energy to doing the incredibly difficult task of building a startup that can reduce emissions by millions of tonnes. This cohort is incredibly talented: a quarter have PhDs, 36% are women (our highest % ever), 30 nationalities, and no fewer than two Olympian hammer throwers.

And with just a handful of years left until 2030 Net Zero deadlines, they're going to have to aim high and fast.

Other updates this month:

And p.s. some news on our own carbon footprint, Carbon13's website is now independently verified as green hosted ?

Berlin Climate Innovation Showcase

The grand finale of our first cohort based in Germany took place last Thursday, with a full room at Google and hundreds of people watching on the livestream.?

Thank you to Lubomila Jordanova for a thought-provoking keynote, stressing the need to not waste time on ideas which can't scale.

Thank you also to Google for hosting the event, in particular Fabiano Abreu Ott, Felix Hentzen and Erika Root.

We'll keep you updated with all six B1 startups here - and B2 starts in just three weeks!
