Welcoming Jazmine Orazi, MPH to IPFCC’s Team
As IPFCC’s new Program Manager, Jazmine Orazi will lead and support multiple projects and initiatives across IPFCC contributing methodological, project management, and content expertise with an understanding and commitment to patient- and family-centered care (PFCC), engagement, and partnerships. Her career has focused on evaluating health equity initiatives and workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC?) Global Family-Centered Care Collaboration?
Working with the RMHC? Chapter in Ukraine, Bev Johnson, IPFCC President and CEO, virtually presented “Advancing the Practice of Family-Centered Care and the Education of the Interdisciplinary Team” at its very successful 6th country-wide family-centered care conference in December 2023.
Innovative Approach to Patient- and Family-Centered Rounds
Deborah Dokken, Marie Abraham, and Bev Johnson were invited to write a commentary for Pediatrics on a study about an approach to conducting patient- and family-centered rounds. What made this study unique was that it implemented a collaborative process reflected by its use of triads of physicians, nurses, and parents in mentoring teams, co-investigating, and co-production of quality improvement. The commentary , published ahead of print, is available for purchase on the American Academy of Pediatrics website.
Deborah Dokken, IPFCC Senior Specialist, Patient and Family Partnerships Retires
Congratulations and best wishes to Deborah on her retirement! As a family advocate and leader, her passion for healthcare improvement grew out of personal experiences. In addition to Deborah’s IPFCC staff and faculty roles these past ten years, her numerous contributions to the Better Together Campaign, IPFCC resources, and journals will continue to advance patient- and family-centered care.?
New IPFCC Grant: Advancing DEI in Children's Hospital PFACs
IPFCC has been awarded a new grant from the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health that builds on our work to identify promising practices for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in children's hospital patient and family advisory councils (PFACs). The new grant will include the development of resources and a learning community for children's hospitals. The two-year project, which begins February 1st, also continues IPFCC's multi-year partnership with Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

The Camden Coalition is accepting nominations , including self-nominations, until February 16th to be part of a national team that defines the standards of practice for complex care supervisors. People with lived experience of complex health and social needs, whether themselves or as a family caregiver are encouraged to apply!
