January Edition: How can we make progress at scale in 2025?

To meet the world’s growing energy demand, we must ensure that this energy is affordable, secure, and sustainable for the long term. How do we do this? We must continue to use hydrocarbons to meet demand yet make them cleaner and more efficient. We must also champion renewable energy and new energy sources. We must supply the world with the energy it needs today whilst also making sure we do not adversely impact the abundance and availability of energy tomorrow. Sustainable Energy Development (SED) is how we strike that balance. SED is based on using energy-efficient technology, adopting renewable energy sources and using energy responsibly.

We believe that our strongest contributions to Sustainable Energy Development come from:

  • Technology innovation that focuses on all sources of energy
  • Digital solutions that use data to its fullest potential and enable steady and continuous improvement
  • Partnerships that expand across industries, companies, governments, and NGOs
  • Integrated solutions for specific regional and commercial needs

We need to make rapid progress. Our actions must be nimble, efficient, and scalable, across the entire energy ecosystem.?We need to scale how we replicate and disseminate technology innovations for cleaner, more efficient industries; scale how we build and integrate solutions with digital as our lens, our language, and our path to a sustainable future. We must scale how we establish and leverage partnerships to energize change in policies, regulations, and commercial practices. And we must scale how we build solutions for local challenges through detailed understanding of context, relevance, and effectiveness.

This is progress at scale.
