The Japanese Government Is Facing Difficulties In Transitioning Data To The Cloud

According to a survey by Yomiuri Shimbun (Japan's largest newspaper), approximately 30% of the 121 local governments will not be able to fully convert their data systems to the government's cloud services by the end of the fiscal year 2025, which is the government's target year.

Japanese Digital Minister Kono Taro spoke to reporter

The reasons include the time-consuming nature of the conversion process, a lack of personnel familiar with digital technologies, and the high associated costs. Some city governments feel this is a burden and require additional support from the government.
