The new year has arrived, and we’re excited to introduce some talented new artists who have joined our Kombinatrotweiss family. We’re sharing a selection of their artworks to give you a glimpse of their unique styles.
Ce?cile Dormeau
Cécile Dormeau is a French illustrator whose work explores the themes of self-acceptance, body image and diversity. After studying design and visual communication, she initially worked in graphic design and advertising before starting her career as an illustrator in 2015. Inspired by the unrealistic portrayal of women in the media and the constraints of beauty ideals, she began to draw women as they really are – unembellished, authentic and multi-faceted. Her colourful style combines humour with poetry and makes taboos, weaknesses and social issues visible.
Séverine Assous
Séverine Assous lives in Paris and enchants with her vibrant illustrations that combine clear, flat shapes, rich colours and playful textures. After years of experience as an art director in advertising, she now focuses on illustration and motion design in her own studio.
Kimiya Justus
Kimiya Justus has Iranian, Columbian and German roots, was born in Hamburg and is now living in Berlin. She discovered her passion for art and design at an early age and turned it into her profession. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Illustration in 2019 and has since developed a versatile style: She uses clear lines and intense colours to convey the emotions and stories in her motifs. Feminist themes in particular run like a common thread through her work and make her a strong voice in illustration.
Suzu Takeshi
Nonsense, humour and surrealism come together in Suzu Takeshi s visual world: His illustrations are characterised by simplicity and minimalism, but are always created with a lot of heart. In addition to illustration, Suzu loves nature, and in his free time he hikes through the forests and mountains of Hokkaido, where he finds inspiration and balance. One of his ultimate goals? "To become the most unknown illustrator in the world and the most famous of all time – if that makes sense!"
Tu Shen
Tu Shen is an illustrator and brand designer from China. After completing his bachelor's degree, he went on to study graphic design and art at the HfG Offenbach in Germany. He works mainly digitally and favours a clear style with reduced vector graphics and precise lines and shapes. His illustrations are characterised by well thought-out concepts and a structured approach – but humour also has its place in his portfolio and is an essential part of his work.
