Sector news

Jacqui is a highly respected individual in the industry whose expertise is held in high regard. It is recommended that one subscribes to her Friday Round-Ups to stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments.

Here are some areas in relation to apprenticeships and EPA that I have spotted:

• Social Market Foundation report by Baroness Alison Wolf – “Saving apprenticeships” - some very interesting views and recommendations – worth a read
• The BIG Apprentice Survey 2024: Findings and Insights, there are some interesting findings in relation to EPA that EpAOs and providers will find useful to shape support going forward (anxiety approaching end-point assessment)
• Apprenticeships statistics will now be published quarterly
• ESFA Update
• The latest EPAs that Ofqual regulate
• The latest apprenticeship surveys (deadline 26 Jan)
• Jennifer Coupland moving on from IfATE to take up role at LSBU Group
• An article by Thomas Burton around apprenticeships across all levels

And here are some other more general areas worth noting:

• The Department for Education has updated its position on the use of generative AI in the education sector and added a new document on safety expectations
• Information on how the launch of the new power jobs (regional skills investments) will be part of the plan for change and will be continued by Skills England
