Celebrating President Jimmy Carter’s Legacy and Transformative Impact on Communities In Schools
This month, Communities In Schools? (CIS?) proudly joined the nation in celebrating the life and legacy of our 39th President, Jimmy Carter. While he was widely regarded as a humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize winner, he is also known to our organization as one of the driving forces behind the evolution of CIS from a grassroots nonprofit based in Atlanta to a national organization and educational movement serving millions of students annually.
Alumni Spotlight: Esteban’s Full Circle Moment
CIS helped Esteban turn his challenges into triumphs, graduating high school with a 3.5 GPA, but Esteban's determination to succeed didn't stop there. He has worked hard to save money for his trade school tuition.
Licensed Partner Spotlight: National Indian Education Association
The National Indian Education Association (NIEA), a CIS Licensed Partner since 2023, has been championing educational equity for Native students across the country for over 51 years. CIS is proud to partner with them in this work to empower Native students and the public schools they are enrolled in.
