Dear LinkedIn Community,
It's the new year and the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment is back in full speed! Our last call was launched and kick started, and this year all our efforts will be focused on supporting our Implementing Partners creating, matching and improving jobs for young women and men across 11+ countries.
In case you missed our new content, this newsletter will put together all the impact, knowledge and trends we have gathered and shared this month. On top of our usual insights, events, impact stories and learning publications, we published a new podcast episode (with some special guests!).
Every month, we are committed to showing you how CFYE is not merely a program, but a catalyst for change. Beyond the numerical aspects, this newsletter will shine light on our partners, beneficiaries and the great knowledge they share and create through our programme.
Enjoy your reading!
?Future Economies Start with Youth - The Podcast is back with a brand new episode ?
"Navigating Post-Conflict Development Interventions" is the title of our brand new episode, where Sinead Magill , Co-Executive Officer of Palladium: Make It Possible , one of CFYE's consortium partners, and Dirk-Jan Koch , Director & Secretary of the Advisory Council of International Affairs of the Netherlands - Adviesraad Internationale Vraagstukken - are joining our host Kevin Eustatia - Palm to discuss the role of development interventions in countries affected by or emerging from conflict.
Together, they explore best practices for implementing inclusive and sustainable development programs, with a focus on the private sector. By emphasising the importance of localised and holistic approaches, this discussion will unveil risks, opportunities and myths about post-conflict interventions.

The Creative Sector and Youth Employment – Insights from Kenya
Although precise definitions for the creative industries are by definition complex, the creative industries are generally recognised as contributing up to 4% of global GDP and 5% of Kenyan GDP, a share that continues to expand, as societies become wealthier, and patterns of consumption of creative products and services change. Not only do the creative industries play a unique role in defining how societies see themselves and in building cultural cohesion, but they can also be an important source of jobs and export earnings.
To gather together public and private stakeholders in the creative sector, and create a moment of exchange between our partners, our Team in Kenya hosted a thought-provoking event. During the event in Nairobi, the latest Report "The Creative Sector and Youth Employment" was presented and sparked meaningful discussions. The main takeaway? Creative industries in Kenya play a unique role in defining how societies see themselves and in building cultural cohesion, and they hide huge opportunities for economic growth and job creation, in particular for youth.
