January 2024 Update
Hello everyone.
Especially hello to everyone who has recently signed up to this monthly update. That is very much impressed.
Unfortunately, I have been feeling rather stressed lately. A combination of a lack of a regular job, unemployment benefits that run out too fast for my bills, and a seemingly complete lack of interest in purchasing my fiction and non-fiction, despite my regular and dogged efforts at promotion.
Some of these include rejoining #facebook, remaining on #twitter/#x, looking for positions here on #linkedin, and expanding my social account network to include #instagram, #threads, #bluesky, #reddit, and #tiktok. As well as starting a website via #ghost and a #wordpress blog, to complicate things further.
Besides #amazon and #smashwords, my fiction can also be found for sale and reading on #ream, #fictionate, #payhip and #etsy. But I have difficulty figuring out how to attract readers to them, even with plugs through articles on the two newsletters on #substack that have the closest thing to a steady audience I have had lately.
Does this have anything to do with me being #actuallyautistic?
In any event, there hasn't been too much to report personally and socially this month so far. I hope that the next one will be better.
If you have an interest in what I write, either my non-fiction on animation or my speculative fiction, you can find it available at various outlets through this link:
(And if you want to follow me at any of the above named places it would really help me a lot).
Talk to you soon

1 年David, I wish you success with publishing and finding buyers and readers. Yes, it can be a nasty, discouraging experience to find that no one or only a few people actually care enough to buy your books and stories. On top of that, I find that I am besieged by digital marketers who want me to hire them to promote my work. If you find a magic word or formula, please let me know what it is. In the meantime, I hope you find a regular job. I think that when you do, you'll feel much better. All I can say is that you should keep trying. Unlike Sisyphus, eventually you'll climb to the top of the hill and find that the struggle was worth it. John Rosenman
