CareMates , a start-up from the cradle of the Digital Product School by UnternehmerTUM , is revolutionizing the admission process for patients in care facilities.

The DLD Conference was the event kick-off for 2024. Topics such as AI and sustainability have become an integral part of today's world and are more important than ever. This also plays a role for foundations, as was revealed at the “U-Turn” event, which serves as an exchange between start-ups and foundations.?

Collaboration is Key!

We look back on a successful DLD Conference 2024, where the who’s who of the digital tech industry discussed the most important issues in times of crisis and war. With strong support from UnternehmerTUM, the Technical University of Munich and TUM Venture Labs, one message became very clear: We need to make a difference through innovation. Revolutionizing the Admission Process in Care Facilities

A shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare sector, an aging population and the risk of burnout among nursing staff. One Digital Product School by UnternehmerTUM (DPS) project is setting a positive example and addressing the challenges facing the care sector. CareMates shows how artificial intelligence can make the daily work of many care staff easier. Their digital solution reduces the administrative workload and enables care staff to spend 80% more of their working time caring for people. What do Foundations and Start-ups have in Common?

They both share the same goals: to identify social needs and develop appropriate solutions. At the “U-Turn,” a joint event of the Association of German Foundations and UnternehmerTUM, start-ups and foundations came together to discuss synergies, interfaces and common challenges, among other things:

• What contribution are innovative technologies already making to society?
• How can foundations work more closely with start-ups to jointly implement real potential?
• How can we motivate start-ups to engage in the complex foundation environment?
