JANUARY 2023! A WHIRLWIND!

Yes! January was a whirlwind of events and travel. 4 different cities in 3 weeks and so many schools and visits. I had a ball.

The Albert Camus was the first school to participate in Miss Ely's Poems and Pictures Illustrators Contest in 2023 and on Instagram. We have been doing this contest on a Website for a couple of years, but kids just love seeing and showing their work on Instagram. So we moved. Imelda says I hit it right on with this poem that I wrote just for her kids. You can request a personalized poem too! Help us build this great place for kids to express themselves through art, and show their comprehension of English!

Since both Tepeyac Xcaret and the Guadalajara Santa Anita Campus have enjoyed Literacy Pro for the past few years, their Puerto Vallarta Campus is contemplating joining in on the fun next year. I had a great Zoom with them, and they were impressed! Ask me about this great Reading Platform. I can do a Zoom for you too!

I started out in Cuernavaca, where I met with the lovely Jr. High English Coord. Adriana Herrera Fey who is a huge fan of Scholastic and always includes our books on her reading list each year.

From there we went to the Marymount School and saw Ezli, Suzzane and their new French teacher, Annie, who is super excited about our new French Reading Platform.

She will be getting her free trial as soon as she gets back from the long weekend. They are currently using Literacy Pro as well, and are very excited about the updates and changes coming for next year!

Miss Doris and Miss Tony at COLEGIO MORELOS received me with open arms as always. We have been meeting up for years and are contemplating a great Book Fair there at the end of the year with Belson Books.

I made a pit-stop at International House, Cuernavaca, to meet up with David Brown, who had quite a surprise for me. He has lots of good things to say about Scholastic Prime Singapore Math Material. You can find out more about this program with Scholastic's Oscar Moreno:

Guadalajara, We will have Oscar in town. Ask me about options to see a presentation on the 2nd and 3rd of March in town!

Liceo Moliere Franco Mexicano in Cuernavaca is using our GUIDED READING SHORT READS PLUS this year.

They are thrilled. Miss Aline, the Director, is a lovely, caring woman. For her 70th birthday, she is requesting books to donate to a needy school, instead of presents. That's just the kind of person she is.

At Colegio Williams in Cuernavaca, there is a new Librarian. I got to meet Diana this time. Colegio Williams has been using our Bookflix Reading Platform for some years now.

Thank you Diana, the new English Coordinator at Colegio Cuernavaca for our Chat. Welcome to your new post! I know we will be doing lots of things together in the near future besides the great Book Fairs you have twice a year.

Then in CDMX, we had a visit from our Amazing Scholastic Sales Director, Caribbean & Latin America and Director of Sales Training, Miguel Melendez, who flew in from Puerto Rico. (1st visit to Mexico since Covid started up). Monica, our Rep in Mexico City and Estado de Mexico, Miguel, and I went to pay a visit to one of our Distributors, Delti. We met up with Gerardo and his team to plan for this upcoming season.

Thanks also to the help and support from Luis Real, from Real Good Books. We have been working with sales to the Proni in 10 states now. This is from a visit with our good friend Simon Madrigal Caro who we are wanting to become our 11th State to use Scholastic Materials.

The flyer will be in PDF and you can send it to your parents and students. You can even get a few books for free for your participation. Books arrive in 20 work days. Ask me for more details.
