When it comes to highlighting senior living communities, using a resident’s milestone as a springboard – such as celebrating the 99-turning-100-year-old – can be an easy way to insert an organization’s name in the news. AKCG worked with The Kendal Corporation to secure print and digital coverage in The Washington Post. The story focused on a resident of Kendal at Lexington, Nancy Epley. Nancy creates hand-sewn, customized jackets that each tell the story of the wearer’s life. To date, she has created more than 200 jackets, some of which have been modeled in fashion and art shows.

Meet Adam Dvorin, Vice President of AKCG. Helping lead our firm’s media relations practice, Adam combines his past newsroom experience with public relations sensibilities, and his deep expertise helps our team land meaningful coverage for our clients.

With over two decades of experience in the field, you’re a seasoned practitioner. What about our industry continues to excite or surprise you?

There is a real “wait until you see what’s next” dynamic in our industry that is exciting. Technology and communications platforms change, but there are some fundamentals that remain constant, such as presenting your organizational perspective in a credible and factual manner. One day, we will look at TikTok and Instagram as outdated platforms and something new will be in its place. It is fun to see what technologies will last and which ones will change as time goes by.

Learn more about Adam and the rest of our team in our Meet the Team series on our blog.
