So just what we saw last month, one finds that the government yet again was mostly immobilized carrying out activities concerned with decontrol, deregulation and liberalization.

It is so amusing to observe the administration focusing on a thing like the vaccine instead of the economy. I cannot believe this.

To top that the nations own chief economic advisor last week was advocating for increased government investment in infrastructure and spending on welfare and subsidies and support to the industry and what not.

basically the point is that having an economic advisor in itself signifies an obstructive mindset.

things cannot improve until and unless they understand the basic principle that it is the governments duty to stop interfering in the economy.

So i dont know what to say. it gives a sense that it is no use expecting anything from the state. it is better to give up and surrender.

they will keep going with whatever the others have done in the past with minor variations here and there making it look like something ingenious.

old wine in the same bottle if one looks at the larger picture. on one hand one must applaud for all the positive work they have done in the last 6 years but on the other hand it is too little compared to what china achieved so quickly in the past.

i just read a post by someone at facebook today presenting own view about countries worth migrating to.

i didnt go through the entire post but noticed that he mentioned three countries as shit-holes : somalia, south africa and india. of course putting somalia in the same bracket as india is an exhaggeration.

so i cant say if i agree or disagree with that writers opinion but all i can say is that from a broader perspective im not proud of my country. instead my head hangs in shame.

finally at facebook i noticed today a short video about srinagar going through the coldest spell in the last 30 years. but the color of ice (which was about to melt and was slowly turning transparent) was not white. it was slightly yellowish-green opaque shade.

i have been noticing this since decades. whenever they show ice in other countries it is white and the one about to melt is pure and fully transparent just like glass.

but india is the only country in the world where even a natural resource like ice is dirty. its because of an excessively high population.

almost every individual and almost every factory all over the country is polluting the ground by injecting all sorts of chemicals and waste material under the ground but still vote bank politics is the top priority for the government and they are not implementing the zero child policy.

i wish i had something positive to say but thats all for this monthly episode. the financial environment created by the government is so grim in this nation today that i am not even in a position to write the line "lets hope for a good budget today".
