Resourcify
Optimise your waste management for peace of mind, profit, and the planet ??
Hi Janina, we’d love to learn more about you! Can you introduce yourself and your role at Resourcify?
Hey I’m Janina and I’m a Senior Enterprise Account Executive for 6 months now with the WMS (Waste Management System) Business unit at Resourcify. I have lived in Berlin for 6 years now, but I'm originally from Aachen, the city of Kaiser Karl, the elite university RWTH and the world's biggest horse riding festival CHIO. I have been super passionate about horse riding ever since I can think of and still have my own horse Arisco who has already been by my side for 24 years! (He is 28 years old, retired and living his best life in the Eifel!)
What’s something that inspires you?
It sounds funny but I find inspiration every time I try something new! In general, I am inspired by borderline experiences and I like to challenge myself. For example, I got a diving license although I was super scared about the open water - and still am! And I climbed Kilimanjaro last year without knowing well if I would like hiking or not, but I wanted to challenge my willpower and my cognitive brain. Of course, my fitness level was strong enough to accomplish this, but to be honest, I could have been better - haha!
Have you checked something off your Bucket List? What was it?
There are a lot of things I recently checked off the list. One was definitely my four week trip to Madagascar. It was definitely eye opening to see this hidden beauty in the world. I couldn't imagine seeing something more diverse while still being on planet Earth. The biodiversity there is phenomenal. I checked off diving with Humpback Whales and even heard them singing under water. I also checked off having a wild Lemur jump on my back in the middle of the jungle as it was curious about us (That was scary though!)
I checked off seeing all the national parks and beautiful plants which only grow in Madagascar. I also experienced travelling in a private tour guided by a local who showed me their ways of living. If you'd like to try this for yourself, please hit me up for details! I can definitely recommend them to you gladly.?
What does a typical day look like for you?
I usually get up at 6:30am, make myself a coffee and stick to my routine including doing some face Yoga and Gua Sha, as this wakes me up and circulates my blood. I then start my working day around 7am by checking emails and having focus time until 9am when I usually have my first meetings with customers and colleagues, but in general, I do adapt my schedule to my clients. Around 12pm I take a long break until 14pm to go for lunch and a walk or 3 times a week I also go to the gym. Most of my work is focused on clients and internal meetings where we work cross-functionally. In addition, I’m also busy with the preparation and meeting follow-ups.?
What qualities do you believe an Account Executive should have?
Some important qualities are that you can handle stress well, are resilient and are passionate about the product which you sell! It’s important to understand the needs and goals of your customer. It’s not only about selling a great product, it’s about supporting a client on their journey, to figure out the best partnership and continuing to build trust with each other along the way. You also need to have the ability to handle a big round of people and bring them together at the right time and place! This is especially important in the enterprise sales area, you have to understand that sales is not an individual battle, but really teamwork. Teamwork makes the dream work! ;)
Together we reach our goal. At Resourcify I work very closely with SDRs, Solution Consultants, Product Managers,? Marketing and After Sales.
What do you particularly enjoy about your job?
I really enjoy being in contact with a wide variety of people all day long. I meet so many different personalities and no day is like the other, although my core responsibilities stay the same. I also have the opportunity to develop myself further, especially in the area of sustainability at Resourcify.
It’s great to be part of something meaningful in my profession!
What is the most valuable career advice you’ve been given?
You have a “no” until you ask a question: Only then can you get a “yes” when you work through it!
“Ein Nein, hast du, ein Ja, kannst du kriegen”
Thank you Janina for sharing your experiences with us!
