Jane's story

This is the story of Jane.

Jane is a VP of HR at The Average American Company.

The Average American Company is a moderately successful organization. It employs 1500 people, is spread out across multiple departments, has products in market and is reasonably financially successful. Overall, it is an average American company.

But Jane, in her VP of HR position has privy to her company’s challenges that are not visible to the outsiders. The Average American Company is bleeding talent to competitors, and has traditionally had challenges attracting top talent that can make it a star organization. She knows that every employee that they replace costs the organization 150 to 400% of the annual salary. Jane also knows that there is a hierarchy-disconnect between her top management and other staff. Internal surveys have revealed that only 30% of her organization is actively engaged. In fact 18% of her company is actively sabotaging progress. Innovation is lower than it should be and employee morale is suffering. As a result customer service is struggling as well.

She knows her company can do better, much better. She knows this is not a headache to fix with a pill, only to have it show up the next day. What the company needs is a long-term comprehensive growth solution.

As the universe conspires, she hears about a secure cloud app called Kulture of Kindness. She learns that Kulture of Kindness enables compassionate work cultures in a three step process by Inspiring. Facilitating. and Rewarding compassion. The app posits that a compassionate work culture can be an overarching solution for fostering innovation, improving productivity, attracting and retaining talent and in general improved bottomlines.

Now, Jane is an analytical person. She is skeptical. Her first reaction is : What has compassion got to with company bottomlines? In her mind, compassion is all about giving- what mother Theresa and CNN heroes represent. But she is also curious about Kulture of Kindness, when she learns that the program was built on the foundation of solid science and the counsel of top minds in the field. So she decides to explore further.

She understands that compassion in the workplace is essentially caring in action. It is investing in her employees emotional wellness and treating people right. She is surprised to learn that psychological wellness can boost productivity by 10 to 25%. She also learns that compassion is a learnable skill, and that Kulture of Kindness achieves this through consistent inspiration, facilitation and honoring positive behaviors. The app is essentially facilitating what she always believed in- invest in human capital to get the best out of them.

She is also excited to know that Kulture of Kindness is committed to her organizations success: by helping implement the program in her organization, train support groups within her organization, offering periodic surveys, customizing inspiration to suit the unique needs of her organization and helping her employees break down hierarchical barriers. Best of all, she realizes that in adopting Kulture of Kindness, she is creating a happier workplace and in turn expanding the ripple of compassion beyond the workplace.

That is Jane’s story.
