James A. Norkawich has long been a master of blending nostalgia with innovation. As a pianist, composer, and producer, he has crafted a career that bridges classical, jazz, and contemporary music. His artistry is rooted in tradition yet constantly evolving, making him one of the most dynamic voices in the modern music scene.

This week, Norkawich sat down with world-renowned tenor Christopher Macchio for a compelling interview on On Stage Podcast. The conversation highlighted their shared passion for classical crossover and the importance of preserving musical integrity in an industry driven by fleeting trends.

“It was an honor to speak with Christopher,” Norkawich shared. “We both believe in the timeless nature of great music, and it was incredible to discuss how we can keep that tradition alive for future generations.”

Beyond the interview, Norkawich has another major milestone ahead—on March 28, he will release his highly anticipated album, 50. The album, which marks a significant chapter in his life and career, is a reflection of his journey as an artist, drawing from decades of experience in performance, composition, and production.

“My goal with 50 is to create something deeply personal yet universally resonant,” Norkawich explained. “This album is a celebration—not just of where I’ve been, but of where I’m going. It embodies everything I’ve learned, experienced, and dreamed of in my musical career.”

With a career spanning over two decades, including collaborations with legendary artists like Tower of Power and Chicago, Norkawich has built a legacy rooted in musical excellence. His work as a Hammond Artist and contributions to both studio and live performances across the country further solidify his standing as a respected figure in the industry.

Beyond his work as a performer, Norkawich remains dedicated to education and the arts. From his early years teaching in Bridgeport and Stratford to founding Studio 55 in Glastonbury, he has been a steadfast advocate for music education. His 25-year radio career, spanning from New York City to Pennsylvania and Connecticut, has allowed him to bring music to a broader audience.

In addition to his work on stage and in the studio, Norkawich has spent 17 years in music ministry, working with worship teams at various churches throughout Connecticut. His commitment to faith and music continues to be a guiding force in his career.

As 50 nears its release date, Norkawich remains focused on the road ahead. “Music is a lifelong journey,” he says. “And every note, every song, every album is another chapter in that story.”

With an exciting new album, a thought-provoking conversation with Christopher Macchio, and an ever-expanding legacy, James A. Norkawich is proving that his best work is yet to come.
