James Cutts Shares His Enthusiasm For E-commerce

It was in December 2007 I joined Sports Direct after graduating University. This was a massive opportunity to be part of not only a thriving company but to start a new e-commerce department where I was able to make a big difference from the beginning.

I began in a department of just two with myself as the webmaster and the ecommerce manager controlling the Sports Direct and Field and Trek websites. I was involved every aspect of ecommerce including web design, graphic design, category management and email marketing.

This team quickly grew in the years to come and with that so did my responsibilities. I’m now the Front End UI Design Manager and have my own team of front end developers who design and manage over 50 very different websites.

My goals are to expand my team further by having specialist teams with managers for each team.

As rewards for my efforts over the years I’ve had some awesome experiences like playing football on Newcastle United’s St James’ Park as well as going to Swiss Alps and being a part of the yearly annual conference!
