James Francis Cameron, CC - ( that's the Order of Canada which is a Canadian State Order and also 'the Second highest honour for the merit in the system of Orders, Decorations and Medals of Canada after the Order of Merit, was originally established in 1902, by King Edward VII - plus the 'three tiered order' was established in 1967), is a Canadian film-maker.
Cameron, born on August 16, 1954,in Kapuskasing, which is a town that's situated on the Kapuskasing River in the Cochrane district of Northern Ontario,Canada, that has a population of over 'eight-thousand, two-hundred and ninety-two citizens' and is approximately 'ninety-two kilometres east of Hearst, - a town that's also situated in the District of Cochrane, Ontario, Canada, and is also located on the Mattawishwia River in Northern Ontario, - which is approximately about 'ninety-two kilometres west of Kapusakasing, and is also approximately about 'five hundred and twenty' kilometres east of Thunder Bay which is along Highway 11.
However, the town was originally known as the MacPherson until 1917, this is because the name was changed so as not to conflict with another railway stop in Manitoba, Canada's 'fifth-most populous province' that has a population of over 'one million, three hundred and forty two thousand, and one hundred and fifty three citizens.
In 1971,at the age of seventeen years Cameron moved to the US, and is also the son of an electrical engineer, his mother is also an artist and a nurse.
Cameron is also established as a major player-figure in the post-new Hollywood era, he is also considered to be one of the industry's most innovative film-makers and regularly 'pushing the boundaries' as well as 'going the extra mile' of cinematic capabilities with his use of novel technologies, but in addition to film-making Cameron is also a member of the National Geographic as an explorer and has produced many movies of his chosen field of subject including 'Ghosts Of The Abyss' -2003 - and also 'Aliens Of The Deep' - 2005.
Cameron also co-founded 'three production companies' - notably - Lightstorm Entertainment,Digital Domain and also Earthship Productions.
Cameron has also contributed to underwater filming as well as remote vehicle technologies and helped to create the Digital 3-D Fusion Camera System.
By 2012, Cameron became the first person to do a solo desent to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the Earth's Ocean in the Deepsea Challenger submersible.
After seeing 'Star Wars' -1977, Cameron quit his original job as a truck driver and began his journey in the film industry in 1978, where he learnt his new skills by directing, producing, and also writing 'Xenogenesis' he originally borrowed the money from a consortium of dentists to make 'his first-ever short movie' with a friend - he later described the experience as a doctor who first performed his 'first surgical procedure' and then two years later -1980, he broadened his skills - by working first as a minature model-maker at Roger Corman Studios, first as an art-director for 'Battle Beyond The Stars' -1980, described as a 'futuristic version' of 'The Magnificent Seven'- the original 1960 version directed by John Sturges and featuring Richard Thomas, star of the TV series 'The Waltons' as John-Boy Walton, with support from Sybill Danning, John Saxon,Ernest Borgnine and Robert Vaughn - star of 'The Magnificent Seven' and also carried out the special-effects for 'Escape From New York - 1981, directed by John Carpenter.
It was also after seeing 'Halloween' -1978, - 'the original' also directed by Carpenter that Cameron was inspired to write the script for 'The Terminator' - 1984 - 'this was a sci-fi-action thriller' about a cyborg who's sent from the future to carry out 'a lethal mission'.
Now Cameron originally wanted to sell the 'original script' so that he could direct the movie to various film studios and while some expressed some interest in the project, it was Gale Anne Hurd, a colleague, and also the original founder of Pacific Western Productions, who also agreed to buy Cameron's 'original script' for the sum of $1- (82p - UK), on 'one condition' - that Cameron would 'direct the picture' - which he did - and the rest they say is 'ancient history'.
The film itself would star Arnold Schwarzenegger as 'The Terminator', - 'a Cyborg assassin' who's sent back in time from 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor - (Linda Hamilton) - whose unborn son will one day save mankind from extinction by Skynet, a hostitle artificial intelligence in a post-apocalyptic future, meanwhile, Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), is a soldier who's sent back in time to protect Sarah.
This is also the film that is 'credited' with launching Cameron's film career and also cementing Schwarzenegger as 'a leading man, and as the movie this led to 'a franchise consisting of several sequels as well as a television series featuring Lena Headey, star of 'Game Of Thrones' - the epic tv series - as well as comic books, novels and also video games to its credit.
But in fact Cameron also had greater success as a director with movies such as 'Aliens' -1986, 'The Abyss' - 1989, 'True Lies' - 1994, - a remake of the french film 'La Totale' -1991 plus 'Titanic' - 1997 - which won 'eleven Academy Awards'- this was only 'one of three films' which won astonishing 'eleven Academy Awards' - the other two were 'Ben-Hur' - 1959, and 'The Lord Of The Rings : The Return Of The King -2003, and 'Avatar' - 2009, but he was also a screenwriter as well when in 1984, he co-wrote the screenplay with Sylvester Stallone for 'Rambo : First Blood Part II -1985,and also featured Stallone as John J. Rambo, a former veteran who fought for his country in the Vietnam war.
However all of Cameron's movies - 'nine so far' as a film director has grossed a 'hell of a lot of money at box-offices worldwide' - his career as an Oscar-winning film director is worth $ 700m - US (£571,438,000.00 - UK) alone, with 'two of his films' - notably 'Avatar'- the first one - and also 'Titanic' are also 'the highest and also the third highest-grossing films of all time, earning $2.91billion and also $2.19 billion - (£2,355,383,100.00 and also £1,773,177,300.00 -UK), respectively.
However, in addition Cameron holds the outstanding achievement of directing 'the first two of the five films in history itself' to gross over $2 billion (£1,618,660.000.00 -UK) worldwide and in 2010, Time magazine named Cameron as one of the most influential people in the world, plus he is also an evironmentalist, runs several sustainability businesses and is also a vegetarian.
When 'Avatar' - 'the original film' - first came out in 2009, - this was not only 'one of the biggest box-office success stories' ever, but it was also classed as 'a pioneering acclomplishment in Visual Effects and 3-D film-making in its unique class in cinematic history.
So now in 2022, thirteen years later after the original, 'Avatar 2 : The Way Of Water' finally arrives in movie theaters with great excitement and also anticipation and many have described it as a cross between 'Dances With Wolves' in space or even 'Pocahontas' with 'Cirque du Soliel' trained smurfs, - just think of it as a clash between SNP Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon, Wee Jimmy Krankie and the Munchkins who team up to fight and also challenge ''the powers that be'' to ask for 'a massive pay-rise' as their funds are desperately running short due to 'the cost of living' and that the plot for this is set 'ten years later' after the original, it simply follows Jake Sully (Worthington) and Ney'Tiri (Saldana), who by now have been putting down their weaponry and 'formed a family' and are doing everything to stay together.
However, they must leave their home and explore the regions of Pandora.
But when an ancient threat resurfaces, that happens to be a new star in the heavens which heralds the return of the Sky people and soon our family are on the run, allying with a sea tribe to make a stand against their oppressors it is then up to Jake himself and who must fight a difficult war against the humans.
As you are aware 'Avatar 2 - The Way Of Water' - is in fact - 'the first of four sequels - now two movies make a sequel/follow-up, three movies make up as a trilogy while four movies are classed as a quadruple - to you which also means that the franchise itself will span 'five films in total' - that's a 'quintuple' - but if you watch Countdown - a quiz show that's shown on weekday afternoons on Channel Four and featuring the likes of Rachel Riley - a clever babe who also happens to be a 'die hard Red Manchester United fan - the greatest football club on the planet and situated at Old Trafford - well apart from that other Manchester club that's known as Manchester City - the blue half - plus they're situated at Eastlands - and because they're known as our 'noisy neighbours' - then you don't have to be an expert to know this because Ms Riley is outstanding.
Anyway, 'this epic-adventure' lasting about 3 Hrs 12 Mins or even 192 mins (no not the legendary bus route running regularly between Manchester City Centre to the Rising Sun, situated at Hazel Grove, via Stockport Town Centre), is a magical sublime cinematic experience and at times it is classed as 'a soggy twee trillion-dollar screensaver that if we won the National Lottery is where you take your long awaited dream vacation - '' if only'' - and it's like being water-boarded with one of 'The Beach Boys' strumming along to the sounds of 'Good Vibrations' and taken to a desert island and stranded alongside Tom Hanks for added company as well as Granny Ridgeway alongside slimline Mary Nightingale and even Judith 'Miss Piggy' Chalmers providing the evening's entertainment for good measure with turquoise cement - then pick up the phone and just call out the experts on 'Homes Under The Hammer' and featuring the likes of Martin Roberts, Tommy Walsh and Dion Dublin plus stars of 'A Place In the Sun' featuring Jasmine Harman, Danni Menzies and Laura Hamilton who between are both teaming up together on an epic challenge on who between 'the six of them' who and which of these celebrities can build on their experiences to find a tropical house on the Island and featuring the voice of Kevin Costner shouting 'If you build it they will come'' -courtesy of 'Field Of Dreams' - a film that featured Costner as well as James Earl Jones, Ray Liotta and even Burt Lancaster - with the added narration of Morgan Freeman thrown in for good measure and they'll advise you what to do if your current situation - should it ever happen.
However, although this works best as history's most expensive documentary that's shot in IMAX - it's a fact that Cameron thinks he's Sir David Attenborough, a famous TV presenter who's been there, seen that and also has got 'the T- shirt to prove it, but this a stunning and immersive movie that's known as an experience that you will ever see in your entire life this holiday season.
Just one other thing that if all that fails on your well-deserved vocational holiday - unlike the “Home Alone “ series where everything that appears to be running smoothly and goes wrong at the last minute and let’s face it they normally do - then 'with the advice of many travel experts - though if you ask me that they're not much cop by giving 'the right advice' on where to go so if i were you 'just don't bother going away'- my advice is 'Don't book it -Just Stuff It ! because if you stay in your establishments then you can have your own adventure in your own time - but if you do go away then you can always take an alternative exotic lifetime of a memorable trip - to Casablanca.
