James Andrew Steele
8/22/1984 -- 10/10/2017
THROWBACK THURSDAY #TBT
In 2004, the Atlanta Community Food Bank moved into $12 million dollar building debt free. Hundreds of millions of meals have been fed to millions of people since. In addition to the major foundation givers, the community was asked to help fund the building effort. Beth and I donated in Honor and Celebration of our three children, Everett, Andrew and Rebecca. The photo is plaque on the front of one of the chairs created for the event.
In 2017, in less than a week, you have donated $4,651 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank in honor of our son, James Andrew Steele which will provide over 18,000 meals to hungry men, women and children.
In Andrew's 33 short years, he has impacted more people than folks who lived much longer and were financially much more secure. Andrew never had much money but he gave what he had and he often gave himself.
Just 2 days before his death, Andrew donated blood for the victims of the Las Vegas sniper attack.
Everyone from the rich to middle class or to the poor, from the educated to the drop out and from the executive suite to the struggling mentally ill can all do something if you have it in your heart to serve others.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. taught us: “Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
Our Andrew had a Heart full of Grace and a Soul generated by Love.
Please consider joining the effort to feed those in need by visiting Andrew's Page and donating Here: https://engage.acfb.org/andrewsteele

7 年Ricky, I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. This is a beautiful gesture in Andrew's honor, on behalf of others as he would do, and I'm glad to participate.
