Jamaican Journalist, Noel Thompson, Joins eGroup Communications & The X-Change? MICE Conferences

President and CEO of the internationally renowned email marketing company, eGroup Communications Inc, Robert ‘Bob’ Burke, has announced the appointment of senior journalist Noel Thompson, as their Regional Director of Public Relations, Sales and Marketing for Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean - effective Monday, November 2, 2020.

“As we seek to expand our presence and services across the Caribbean region, we are confident that recruiting Noel to join our team is the right decision and an opportunity that is very timely,” said Burke. Burke added: “The eGroup team is very excited that Noel has shown a strong commitment and enthusiasm in representing our interests in Jamaica and the region, as well as in the tourism sector. “Noel will also be responsible for crafting press releases (news and features) on clients’ behalf and disseminating them to our vast database of contacts, as well as others” stated Bob.

I feel humbled and honoured to be given this mantle to represent Jamaica and the Caribbean by extension, as the region seeks to reposition its tourism product and itself on the global stage as the preferred destination. I am confident that as a team, the strategies, which eGroup Communications will employ will further bolster the Caribbean hospitality sector as a force to reckon with,” Thompson said.

Thompson, who is a career journalist and photographer, is a Jamaican by birth, who has spent the past 31 years working in the profession for some of the top publications between Jamaica and the United Kingdom. These include The Western Mirror, The Gleaner and The Voice – to name a few.  

Simultaneously, Thompson has been undertaking media relations for a number of the island’s major brands, such as The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB); The Ministry of Tourism; Secrets Resorts and Spas; The National Commercial Bank (NCB); First Global Bank (FGB); GraceKennedy, among others.
