Jamaica Customs Discusses Haiti and Border Protection with Canadian Police
The Jamaica Customs Agency welcomed Rose Adrian from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police yesterday, signalling the continuation of bilateral cooperation to enhance border protection measures between the two nations.
During the meeting, which took place at the Jamaica Customs headquarters in Kingston, high-level Customs officials, led by Marlon Lowe, Deputy CEO of Border Protection, discussed various topics including the prevailing situation in Haiti, intelligence-sharing, cross-border security challenges, and strategies to strengthen collaboration in combating transnational crimes.
Rose Adrian expressed her organization’s commitment to supporting Jamaica Customs in its efforts to safeguard Jamaica’s borders and enhance security measures. She further underscored the importance of intelligence-sharing and collaboration among international partners to effectively address emerging threats and promote regional stability.
Highlighting the significance of the visit, Marlon Lowe expressed that Customs welcomes the opportunity to engage in discussions aimed at fortifying the agency’s bilateral ties with Canada.
