Jai Jagat 2020: A Global Peace March

A collective journey of like-minded people to unite and spread Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a non-violence. Jai Jagat 2020 is an appeal to the fellow beings of the world to transform and achieve ‘one planet one people’. A call that rises from India and travels 10,151 kms. across the globe to urge for a response to the ever-deepening economic, social and environmental crisis through promoting the virtues of peace and non-violence.

As a build-up to the 150th birth centenary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Jai Jagat marches shall reach out to masses to create change makers working together to transform individuals, institutions and societies.

What is Jai Jagat 2020 all about?

Jai Jagat is 12 months of marching by people from all across the world to Geneva, Switzerland and 8 days of extensive action in Geneva to uphold the four pillars influenced by United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Namely:

a.     Goal 1: Eradication of Poverty

b.     Goal 10: Eliminating social exclusion

c.     Goal 13: Acting on the climate crisis

d.     Goal 16: Halting conflict and violence

People committed to non-violent change will march from India, Belgium, France, Germany, Sweden, Senegal, Spain and other countries and will be welcomed by the city of Geneva. Where 08 days of People Action will raise challenges faced by worldwide and address it with global institutions and policy makers.

How can you Contribute:

a.     Volunteer and join the country level marches and actions happening in your respective countries as a built up to the Jai Jagat 2020.

b.     Share about people and their stories of bottom-up non-violent actions/ interventions

c.     Advocate for Policy change

d.     Join the Jai Jagat 2020 march to Geneva

e.     Be a part of the Geneva action in 2020

f.      Contribute funds to Jai Jagat campaign

g.     Reach out to your network and enthuse solidarity and support to the whole movement.
