The strength of digital leadership is often considered intangible, yet most companies would agree with Jack Welch's statement and recognize that digital leadership is important to their performance.

The real challenge for today's leaders is to manage the turmoil of the present while creating a sustainable future and protecting, or in some cases re-establishing their organizations' digital strategy. Leadership is an art. Management is a craft.

Jack Welch's philosophy was built on 4 key pillars of leadership.

The "WHERE" vision Having a direction to succeed is essential to be clear about where to go and to set goals.


The values "WHO" Strive for, there is no one who obtains success without effort. To achieve it, you have to work and fight for it.


Differentiation "WHY" Belief in yourself, know and value what makes you unique and challenge yourself to be yourself. To achieve this, it is necessary to know how to identify your own qualities and personal needs. It is also necessary to break the "limiting beliefs".


Sincerity "SINCERELY" Taking risks, you have to learn to overcome your fears. "We are all afraid of failure", but you have to take risks.

The efficient CEO is one who knows how to control his time, direct his efforts towards previously established results, build with all his strength, prioritize his work in a few areas and make effective decisions.

Drucker was a pioneer when he spoke of the need to decentralize decision-making in companies. This issue is fundamental to the growth and strengthening of companies because small groups find it easier to be aware of their importance and their contribution to the overall objectives of an organization.

Drucker introduced the idea of goal setting, which he considered the cornerstone of any strategy (in fact, he was also a pioneer in talking about business strategy). So that any manager could assess whether his or her objectives were being achieved, he created a guide that evaluated performance, diagnosed failures and increased the productivity of both managers and their teams.

All of these strategy lessons apply every day in the digital age. Today's CEOs have not been educated to digitally acquire prospects. Technology is an essential part of any business, so leader has to exercise continuous learning to update their knowledge. It changes the way you produce, but also the way you relate to your team.

The team leader must understand the purpose of technology and why it is used in the company, even if he or she is not an expert in its use. For example, in this new scenario where everything can be measured, he must incorporate data into his decision-making. You may not be the one operating the software, but you must absorb the information and understand it to generate an agile response.
