The Jack of all trades is often a master of none...

I help B2B SaaS get more meetings and revenue using MVGM (minimum viable growth marketing).
At the end of 2021 I’ve had the joy of working with a notable professor in Public Health. Let’s call him John. Very passionate and knowledgeable guy.
He was a client of mine, fully committed to improving his vegan health & fitness to the next level.
At one time, I asked Johnfor a favor: “?????? ?????? ???????? ?? ?????????? ?????????????? ???? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????????????? ???? ?????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????????????”
John’s answer: “???? ????????????.”
After finishing the lecture, another client questioned the findings: “??????.. ???? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????? ???????????????????”
Can you tell what my answer was?
“????’?? ???????? ????????????????!”
Unless the neighbor has an equally impressive background as John (unlikely, as John has a quite impressive background)..
? OR is an avid reader of nutritional science (unlikely, as most academic papers are read by other researchers only)..
? Or is an avid reader of nutritional books (unlikely, as 51.57% of Americans don’t read 1 book in a year)..
.. and can therefore create a very appealing, logical, well-constructed argument - his opinion frankly does not matter in the slightest.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m pro free speech. The neighbor has a right to his opinion, BUT..
.. the opinion has no right to influence your actions.
To find the clues for success, you have to know where to look. ?????? ?????? ?????????? ???? ???????? ???? ???? ?????? ??????, ?????? ?????? ????????.
Look, to pick the right advisors you must understand two things about knowledge:
1. Knowledge is unevenly distributed. A substantiated opinion outweighs 100s of unsubstantiated ones.
2. Knowledge exists outside, not inside of a person. There’s no independent thought. Everyone is regurgitating what they’ve learned previously.

Experience alone is a bad source of knowledge. A trusted advisor must show a track record of scouring history to find the best brains in the field.
As Henry Ford, the entrepreneur who mass-produced the automobile said: “?????? ???????? ?????? ???? ???????? [???? ??????????????], ?????? ?????????????? ??????’???? ???? ???????? ???? ?????? ??????????.”
Considering that history is captured in the written word, a trusted advisor is, and will always be, an avid reader.
Fit vegans do not scour history themselves. They are not occupied with the ‘How?’.
Instead, they are conscious of their time and find a person that has already done the work for them.
The reason you shouldn’t be occupied with the ‘How’ is that it takes time to get good at anything. A whole lot of it.
Dr. Benjamin Hardy, bestselling author and revolutionary psychologist, said: “If you want to get progressively bigger and better results in your life, then you’ll need Whos [who can help me with this?], not Hows [how can I do this?].”
