Jacaranda Apartments-1958
Scottsdale is an important town to me. My grandpa grew up here, my dad grew up here, I grew up here and it's where my family and I are from. Scottsdale is home. And boy has it grown! With all of the growth and people moving here from all around, I wanted to use LinkedIn to try and share a bit of Scottsdale history with all of my Linkedin friends! I have been going all around Scottsdale, documenting historic architectural buildings, and writing up a short history on each one. This has been very entertaining and educational for me and I hope you all enjoy it as well! Any feedback anyone has sure would be great.. I am hoping to provide some quality content and share some of the architectural beauties of my hometown!
Pictured here is the modern day “Jacaranda Apartments”(now the Scottsdale Palms). Built in 1958, this two-story structure has a beautiful courtyard plan and is located at 6824 East Second Street in Scottsdale. The apartments featured a cantilevered roof and a round opening for a palm tree, which is unfortunately no longer there. The opening in the roof still is, however!

5 年Interesting for sure. I'm looking forward to reading about more buildings in the area. Too bad they don't just plant another palm tree in that hole.?
