Exciting News from Murcia, Spain!

We are thrilled to announce that J. Huete Greenhouses has successfully completed one of the largest and most significant greenhouse projects in Europe for 2024. This groundbreaking project, spanning fifteen hectares of Gothic-style greenhouses, is dedicated to the sustainable hydroponic production of high-quality tomatoes for Bonnysa. Located in the Region of Murcia, this project is set to become a benchmark for the Spanish agricultural sector.

Key Highlights:

  • Collaborative Effort: The project was a joint endeavor between the engineering teams of J. Huete Greenhouses and Bonnysa.
  • Impressive Dimensions: The greenhouses stand 6 meters tall from the gutter and reach 8.80 meters at the raised ridge.
  • Advanced Ventilation: Featuring overhead butterfly ventilation and perimeter ventilation on the sides and front.
  • State-of-the-Art Equipment: Includes plastic coatings with UV protection, motorized rolling doors, energy-saving screens, climate control systems, and a comprehensive electrical system.
  • Innovative Hydroponics: Hydroponic cultivation gutters with a drainage collection system, ensuring water and fertilizer savings.

This project underscores our commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, ensuring the production of healthy, flavorful, and high-quality tomatoes.

Global Expansion: While we celebrate this milestone in Spain, J. Huete Greenhouses continues to expand globally. Now, we are working on a semi-enclosed plastic greenhouse in Colombia, 20-hectares project in Senegal, and two berry greenhouses in Australia for Driscoll’s.

Recently, we completed greenhouses in Mexico for hydroponic strawberry production, seed research greenhouses for Syngenta in South America, remodeled eight hectares of glass greenhouses for Planasa, built new research greenhouses for Rijk Zwaan, and commissioned one of Europe's largest technical greenhouses in Portugal for medicinal cannabis production.

This latest project in Murcia not only highlights our expertise in greenhouse construction but also reinforces our commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and innovation in the horticultural industry.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to lead the way in sustainable greenhouse solutions!

I have an idea that can make greenhouses thermally-practical 10 degrees further North AND 10degrees further South.
