IWD 2025: Championing The Women of Spurt!
Every year, International Women’s Day (IWD) reminds us of the progress we’ve made towards gender equality and the journey ahead. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction calls for real change—not just in policies and laws, but in how workplaces, communities, and leaders operate every day around the globe.
While many organisations celebrate IWD with social media posts and panel discussions, the real impact happens behind the scenes, all year long. At Spurt!, we believe in commitment that goes beyond mere gestures. Our focus is on enabling women through how we hire, mentor, and uplift them in our workplace and beyond.
The Reality of Women in the Workforce
Even though we’ve made strides, the statistics on gender inequality in the workplace are still concerning:
Beyond these numbers, many women face hidden challenges, from being overlooked in meetings to missing out on leadership roles due to biases that aren’t always obvious. It’s not just about hiring more women but about creating a supportive environment where they can thrive, lead, and succeed.
How Spurt! Puts Women’s Empowerment into Action
At Spurt!, we know that true empowerment goes beyond just numbers; it’s woven into our culture, policies, and the opportunities we provide. Here’s how we actively support women:
Real Women, Real Stories: Meaningful Impact
We don't want to just talk about our initiatives but hear from the voices of women at Spurt! sharing their journeys.
Here’s what Glory Andy, one of our People Operations interns, has to say:
"I joined Spurt! a year ago, through the S.T.E.P. Training Programme. I was placed in the operations unit, and my career really took off from there. I learned about team performance strategies, recruitment techniques, client relationships, and project management. After five months, while my superiors were away, I took charge of some projects and really made my mark. I led employee culture initiatives and managed recruitment myself. It’s been such an exciting time for me, and Spurt! has played a major role in my professional growth. I’m incredibly grateful!"
These experiences are more than statistics; they emphasise that when women receive the right resources and opportunities, they don’t just reach their goals—they enhance the workplace for everyone.
A Future Where Empowerment is the Rule, Not the Norm
The quest for rights, equality, and enablement for women and girls isn’t just a women’s issue; it affects workplaces, economies, and society. Companies that recognise this don’t just create a fairer world—they also build stronger, more innovative, and successful organisations.
At Spurt!, we are dedicated to making a space in which women are not only invited but empowered. The best way to celebrate International Women's Day is by taking meaningful action, not just stating it.
