A delegation from C?te d'Ivoire led by Dr. Eugène Aka Aouélé, President of the Economic and Social Council (CESEC), presented the economic advantages and investment opportunities available in C?te d'Ivoire to investors in California, USA.
The mission, which began on Monday, June 10, 2024, was an opportunity for the Ivorian delegation to exchange views with the American Chamber of Commerce in California, as well as with key players in the region's business world.
This mission to California is part of a strategy to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between C?te d'Ivoire and the United States while attracting investment in key sectors such as technology, advanced agriculture, renewable energies, and education.
Jessica Davis Ba, US Ambassador to C?te d'Ivoire, and Carole Versteeg, Deputy Managing Director of the Centre de Promotion des Investissements en C?te d'Ivoire (CEPICI), a member of the delegation, jointly presented C?te d'Ivoire's assets and potential to Californian investors. They highlighted C?te d'Ivoire's political stability, its appeal as a tourist destination, the quality of its health and education infrastructures, and its rich culture.
At the meeting, Dr. Aka Aouélé highlighted C?te d'Ivoire's sustained economic growth and invited Californian investors to explore the opportunities the country offers, encouraging the sharing of expertise and the establishment of solid partnerships.
Carole Versteeg presented C?te d'Ivoire's investment code, which offers tax and customs exemptions to facilitate foreign direct investment (FDI), and underlined the government's ongoing commitment to creating a business-friendly environment.
Alongside the presentation of C?te d'Ivoire's assets, the delegation visited the premises of Cisco, the American IT company specializing in network hardware, which at the same time announced the forthcoming opening of an academy in Abidjan. An announcement that testifies to the desire to strengthen cooperation in the digital field.
