"I’ve seen people including skills as a % on their CV. Eg: Communication skills 85%, Adobe Photoshop 90%.. Is it acceptable?" - via HR WhatsApp group
Denoting skills using percentages is good to highlight a particular skill set.?
For instance:
Image editing: Adobe Photoshop 98%, CorelDRAW 80%, Adobe Illustrator 50%
This shows you’re better skilled in Photoshop than Illustrator.
So, if the job role requires more Photoshop skills than others, then the employer has a great fit.
It's better not put this kind of comparison for different skill sets.??
Communication would fall under soft / transferable skills, and Photoshop under technical/ hard skills
If you're comparing transferable skills, then you can show a comparison of what you’re strong(/er) in - if its communication, presentation, creativity or negotiation etc. This gives an idea about your professional persona.
You can go into details of communication and compare the components involving communication like: written communication, oral communication, non-verbal communication etc.
