I've been building something new

I help (ex)consultants & finance pros build careers they love | OnUpBeyond & Movemeon Founder | ex-McKinsey
Over the past 6 months, I’ve been working on formalising my career coaching & development support.
Today, I’m excited to announce the launch of OnUpBeyond .
A big thank you to everyone who’s encouraged me to do this ??.
Particularly to all of you who I’ve coached 1:1 over the years. It’s been a privilege to watch your careers flourish.
?? Let me start by explaining why I’ve been building this and what I’ve been building.
[TL;DR - simply check out www.onupbeyond.com and register your interest for free]
Why I’ve been building this.
About 18 months ago, I had a life-changing conversation with someone (you know who you are) who said something along the lines of:
“Rich. I don’t think you realise that you’re the world’s expert on career development in and after consulting / big4 finance. Things that are obvious to you, are only obvious because of your weird experience (having trained at McKinsey, been a freelance consultant and then spent 15+ years supporting 4,000+ organisations to hire & develop people with a consulting / finance background). They’re not obvious to the rest of us! Have you ever considered becoming a coach?”
I reflected. Then made a change.
I’d always welcomed people messaging me with questions. I made a point of always responding with my advice. And did the occasional call / meeting, when I had time between building movemeon & being a dad to 3 young kids!
But from that day forward, I decided that I would say “yes” to the next 15 people who messaged me asking if I could coach them - in a more in depth way than responding to messages. I did that in the first 6 months of this year.
Coaching the 15.
Working with those 15 coachees was a fantastically rewarding experience.
It allowed me to spot the common pain points where I could help people. And also identify areas where my network could help (e.g, how to find the right coach for personal or leadership development support). I was really happy to receive great feedback.
The problem was, that my coachees started to refer me to friends & colleagues.
And the problem with 1:1 coaching is that I’m limited (by my own time) in the number of people I could support. This time limitation leads to 1:1 coaching with any senior expert (not just me) becoming prohibitively expensive - also a problem.
So I started to say “no” to the referrals and started to create something that could support more people, more affordably.
What I’ve been building & how it will help you.
I’ve created an ecosystem for career development, specifically for current and former consultants and big4 finance professionals. It’s called OnUpBeyond .
Helping you at every career stage.
It’s designed to be helpful to you at every career stage i.e,
We will support professionals directly and also work with organisations (e.g, L&D departments & CPOs) looking for coaching providers to work with their colleagues.
What does the help look like?
It spans 4 areas:
