The Classification, Labelling, and Packaging (CLP) Regulation was recently modified and amended, allowing companies to start adding information on new hazard classes to their IUCLID dossiers.
Specifically, IUCLID software will recognize the following new classifications for substances and mixtures will get effective from the date ‘April 29, 2024’:
This update allows companies to submit dossiers under the CLP, REACH, and Biocidal Products regulations to ECHA that reflect these new classifications. While transition periods exist for substances and mixtures, companies will eventually be required to designate their products according to the new hazard classes when submitting information to ECHA.
For the time being, the new hazard classifications do not affect the REACH registration completeness check. However, the IUCLID validation assistant will urge businesses to enter this information wherever possible. In addition, ECHA is upgrading its dossier preparation guidelines to include guidance on the new IUCLID fields.
