SDG Digital Day: Consultation with youth

When I wrote and published my book, “Development through Digitization” in 2017 as I drew my international consulting engagements to a close, I devoted several chapters on the need to prioritize the potential contributions of “digitization” towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). My message was two fold: 1) that digitization holds significant potential for supporting the 2015-2030 SDGs, and 2) unless a much, much, higher focus was placed on digitization, this potential would simply not be realized. Unfortunately this current article in 2023 reflects that this prioritization has not taken place to the degree needed over these last 6 years…and unfortunately, hard to tell if it will be in the future.
