ITU International Newsletter 11-17.04.2024

Hello. Hope you’re safe and feeling at least somewhat spring-hopeful. This week is pretty calm as far as business updates go, with several governmental initiatives receiving a mixed welcome — a warm one for the digital ones, as well as those bringing Ukraine closer to EU membership. To wrap up the week — dive into some of the key highlights:

Spotlight

Ukraine Shows “Significant Progress” in Implementing the EU-directional Rule of Law

As part of the recent changes and as a result of transparent and internationally verified public hearings, the High Council of Justice and the High Qualification Commission of Judges — were formed on an entirely new competitive basis.

At the ‘A Decade of Transformation Towards a Fair Future: Implementation of Anti-Corruption and Rule of Law Reforms in Ukraine with the support of the EU’ event, Deputy Ministers emphasised the country steadfastly proceeding on its EU candidate path, already sharing its achievement formulas with other Member Candidates.

Ukraine—a Digital State

Document Multi-Sharing as a Next Digitalisation Step

For quite some time now, Ukrainians had—and actively used—an option to share and verify documents, IDs and certificates via the Diia app and web portal. Now, the National Bank has contributed to the infrastructure, preparing to roll out support for digital income reference sharing, encompassing data for various sources of income.?

Works easy as always: companies request and share documents—now in batches—in several clicks.
