Hi! It’s been a week and a half, and we’ve been buzzing with the updates that we finally have started announcing—follow us here and on X (formerly Twitter) to get all of them firsthand. At the same time, Ukraine is ever closer to its EU Accession (talks starting as soon as next month?), and the list of our publicly available digitised sources just got ever bigger. CEU Approves Ukraine Facility Plan

As we anticipated, The EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council approved the Ukraine Plan for 2024-2027 under the EU’s Ukraine Facility. The reforms and investments foreseen have a significant potential to enhance growth, sustain macroeconomic stability, improve the fiscal situation and support Ukraine's further integration with the EU. If all proposed reforms and investments are fully implemented, the estimate is that Ukraine's GDP could increase by 6.2% by 2027 and by 14.2% by 2040 and could also lead to a reduction of the debt by about 10 percentage points of GDP by 2033.

Ukraine Unveils the Strategy for the Development of Electronic Communications

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine , together with its partners, has presented for the first time a strategy for the development, restoration and improvement of electronic communications in Ukraine — in wartime and post-war. The strategy focuses on providing sustainable communications access and electronic communications development as the foundational pillars of Ukraine’s economy.

Catalogue of Energy Efficiency Innovators of Ukraine is Signed into Effect

On Tuesday, Diia .Business portal was expanded with the introduction of the Catalogue aimed at green transformation and the implementation of changes in the use of energy resources. So far, more than 50 companies from 15 regions of Ukraine have joined the Catalogue, which was created to help entrepreneurs make themselves known and find partners, investors, customers, and new clients. The Catalogue can also be used by citizens looking for suppliers for their personal needs.

Viva Tech: May 22-25, 2024. Join the Ukrainian Tech Night (May 23)

Ukrainian Tech Night at Viva Tech 2024 is organised by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Embassy of Ukraine in the French Republic, Diia.City, together with the IT Ukraine Association, CCI France Ukraine, and La French Tech Kyiv. Viva Technology 2024—a leading global tech event—is happening this week, bringing together over 150,000 attendees—11,400 startup representatives, 450 speakers, innovative leaders and heads of the largest corporations—from 174 countries! 14 Ukrainian startups are to represent Ukraine at the national stand at the Paris exhibition.?

Several Days Left to Join the Trade Mission for IT Companies to the Netherlands

The trade mission will be organised by the IT Ukraine Association in cooperation with the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office, a national project of Diia.Business with the financial support of the European Union and the German government within the framework of the international cooperation program “EU4Business: recovery, competitiveness and internationalisation of SMEs”, which is implemented in Ukraine by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

An open call to FinTech-focused SMEs to join a 4-day (June 4-7, 2024) Trade Mission to the Netherlands, a global centre for innovation. 8 small and medium-sized companies will be selected to participate. They will have the opportunity to visit the fintech conference Money20/20 , establish new and promising contacts for cooperation and export, explore the Dutch market from the inside, learn its market features and potential, present the opportunities of the Ukrainian IT sector and exchange experience with Dutch IT companies and industry associations.

Ukraine Signals its Full Readiness for EU Accession Negotiations

On April 24th, as we mentioned in our April edition of this newsletter, Ukraine submitted its first Report on its compliance with 33 negotiating chapters, including political and economic criteria and data on the government agencies and hundreds of public policy servants’ implementation of the European Commission's recommendations.

“Instrumentally and operationally, we have done everything to ensure that the EU opens negotiations with Ukraine in June,”

noted Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine. In March of this year, when the progress was at 77%, the parties were already eyeing June as the Accession Negotiations start.
