Herman Bulls is the International Director and Vice Chairman at 仲量联行 , a global financial and professional services firm specializing in real estate operations and investment management.?He also serves as a policy board member for the US Department of Defense and he is the Vice Chairman of the Board at USAA , a Fortune 100 diversified financial services firm serving the needs of military members and their families.
He’s passionate about delivering value and creating impact as I can attest as a fellow board member.?Herman chairs the board at Fluence Energy and serves on the boards of Host Hotels & Resorts and Comfort Systems USA .?He is a NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) Fellow and has been recognized as one of the most influential individuals in corporate America and one of the top 100 corporate governance professionals in the nation. In fact, he’s just been named by NACD as the Public Company Director of the Year!
Herman was a four-star athlete Coffee High School in Florence, Alabama — and his school’s first African-American student body president and full-time starting quarterback. He also hosted a weekly radio show, a skill that would later serve him at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he hosted a sports radio show with guests such as legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski. He ultimately earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and later an MBA from 美国哈佛商学院 .

Before joining his current post at JLL, he completed almost 12 years of active-duty service with the United States Army. Among his last active-duty assignments were working at the Pentagon and as an assistant professor at West Point.?Herman has completed the Army’s Airborne, Ranger, Command, and General Staff College courses and served overseas in South Korea. He retired as a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves in 2008.
