This year's Neocon was truly a marvel of new products and new faces in the industry. When returning to Raleigh, we left inspired, fueled, and ready to integrate the insight we gained into our work. From panels discussing revealing issues within sustainability practices to visiting endless showrooms showcasing beautiful furniture and material applications, our days were full but surely exciting. Here are a few moments and products that we can't stop thinking about!
Andreu World
Getting to meet designer and architect Patricia Urquiola was a definite highlight of our trip. Her new collection with Andreu World, Mambo Lounge, encompasses a modular sofa with a grooved biopolymer base, always ensuring sustainable practice is at the forefront of her designs. This stunning sofa can be configured in different ways and we particularly loved its curved and soft elements encouraging intimacy and conversation. This was a recurrent theme not only with Andreu World products but throughout many manufacturers.
Model No. Furniture
Model No. Furniture blew us away with its mission to use 100% regenerative proprietary plant-based resins that are durable, customizable, reusable, sustainable, and highly biodegradable to produce 3D printing furniture and light fixtures on demand. Their line up includes seating, workplace, tables, casework, and lighting.
Three H
Three H had a gorgeous showroom this year and as you walk in you couldn't miss their new introduction. The Kynde collection offers easy component replacement and customization and its irregular top shape is breathtaking! The base utilized a fabric that can be removed and cleaned or changed out for a different color allowing for an update to the table's appearance.

Frovi
New to NeoCon this year, UK based Frovi launched its flagship North American showroom at the Mart and their designs grabbed our attention immediately! The theme of curvature mentioned earlier can be seen in their style of furniture.
Shaw Contract + Mike Ford
2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, propelling architect Mike Ford's collaboration with Shaw Contract that draws inspiration from the five elements of Hip Hop. We also had the pleasure of attending the keynote featuring Michael and Lupe Fiasco. Their talk delved into the idea of extracting the rhythms, textures, and patterns of Hip Hop as a source of design innovation in theory and in professional practice. They both make efforts to expose underrepresented youth to architecture and design and diversify the industry as a whole.
