It’s not what you know…

The team and I woke?up this morning happy, in awe and feeling the kind of tired that feels?so?satisfying.

What happened at The Academy this year really was exactly what we said would happen: it was different than any other year.?

We learned, we laughed, we cried.?

Here’s what was said:

“I finally know what’s happening within myself.”

“I went home and did the dishes in gratitude.”

“It was nothing like the corporate personal development I’ve been to before… the ones with the beautiful polished notebooks that you take nothing from.”

“We’re on 1 of 9 behaviors and I’m like—this is my whole life.”

The work was deep. The change was immense.?

Everyone there understood that leadership is not just a role you play. It’s not just a title you have.?

No part of you needs to be left out to be able to lead the way you know you want to lead. You lead from your foundation up.

After the Academy, the whole team went to see my new home and have a picnic on my beautiful land.

I showed them just how deep the foundation really is.?

If you’ve been building up for a long time, it’s time to make sure you’re bringing your foundation up with it.?

And just to show you how strong my home’s foundation really is.

I wasn’t kidding.?

What if your foundation was chest-high? How much stronger and more supported would you feel?

At the end of the event, several people asked, “How do I hold onto this?”

We said, “You don’t. Hold onto us.”

You’re doing big work. And doing it with a team behind your back –?your?back – makes it a lot more fun, a lot easier and a lot more effective.
