It's about "We the People"?

It's about "We the People"

★ It's about "We the People" - striving in concert together, on complimentary paths, facing in the same direction - not about a single leader ★

Let us move past this Presidential election with a renewed vision of what we want for our nation and our world as a whole -  and what we must do to realize our goals and dreams - and put that into constructive action.

As an Independent with non-partisan intention, let me remind us all of the President's Inaugural Address of 20 January 1961, when John F. Kennedy appealed to the American public,

"Ask not what your country can do for you - but what you can do for your country.”

Where he reminded us,

“In your hands, my fellow citizens, more than in mine, will rest the final success or failure of our course."

In a domain growing foul with the sense of self-entitlement, our lives are about so much more than giving and receiving. We need to take personal responsibility for the success of our nation, and who we choose to represent what is significantly important to us and our future - and fear not change.

Take a moment to reflect on that message written in small print on the some of the packages you’ve given or received throughout the year, "some assembly required." That hidden message is reminding us to assemble with those we respect and admire, to mentor, to rekindle joy. Step back in time over 2000 years ago, to when a generation of divided people first celebrated a new leader's directive to the world – that of love, peace, and above all - UNITY.

No matter your faith or culture, gender, race or abilities, I encourage you to embrace the essence of that message to mankind for a greater life and for the life you live on Earth today – and maximize it.

President Kennedy also said,

"Let us begin anew — remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof. Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate…Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belabouring those problems which divide us…Let both sides join in creating a new endeavour, not a new balance of power, but a new world of law, where the strong are just, the weak secure and the peace preserved."

With equal importance, we must have faith in ourselves, and me must respect and appreciate each other. I invite you to change the essence of your inner landscape: let go of your fears and explore true possibility and promise. Live with far greater depth, truth and integrity. Seek wisdom born of knowing shadows and gathering joy. Confront the varieties of the human experience, from desire and commitment to sorrow and betrayal. Learn to recognize true beauty in yourself, as nothing and no one can ever change or control the persons we are or chose to be. Perhaps more than anything, we must remember to live the genuine ecstasy of everyday life; to happily strive along the way, not merely "strive to be happy."

One of the most powerful things we can do in this challenging new era is to hold fast to a positive vision of what we want for ourselves, for our families, these United States, and for all humanity; consistently putting muscle behind that dream to make it a reality. It’s not easy to keep a positive faith.

Our minds get confused by and consumed with fears. Yet, without a positive vision, we focus on problems and the experiences we don’t want instead of guiding our mind to find solutions and to work toward that which we desire. One of the greatest truths of life is that we have the opportunity to experience what we envision. (Think: we made it to the Moon and beyond!)

The mind is a wondrous tool - it has the power to plant seeds and to believe that nothing is impossible. It was our American forefather’s positive vision for the future that empowered them to stand their ground; to give unselfishly; never relinquishing their struggle during more perilous times than these.

Just like them, we must keep our minds focused on the promise of the future; our minds set on the many possibilities this world has to offer; on sharing ideas, inventing solutions; on forging ahead.

I challenge you to open repeatedly to new experiences, new cultures and to life's many blessings. Get a life instead of living a lifestyle - settle for nothing less than what is real. Hold onto your dream, believe in yourself – and do something to make this world - your world - a better place.

We must uphold the creed that as human beings, we are all the fruits of One tree, and the leaves of One branch. There must be unity in diversity and respect accorded to all religions, cultures, ages, races, sexes, sexual preferences, physicalities, and dis-or abilities. We must all assist in the progressive eradication of every form of prejudice, disharmony and conflict. And, we must always remember that we are One – of One Earth, One Planet, One America, and One Humankind.

WE - the PEOPLE - must labor and achieve together and be mindful that growing and making changes takes time and demands hard work. Problems in our world today won’t be healed overnight without our collective effort.

All of the exciting and wonderful things we want for ourselves, our country and in this world can be realized - only if we hold fast to that positive vision. We must put the energy behind our great ideas and make a personal commitment to keep on striving – no matter what.

Remember, the energy you put out is what you get right back. Know that you are worthy. BELIEVE in your desires and they will come true!

No matter whose motto it is - let us make America Great Again and let us be the best we can be, setting an example for the UK as they face BREXIT issues and other nations as they, too strive for excellence.

We the People – United.

Posted today on LinkedIn 16Jul19: Idea of the Day: "On the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 crew blasting off on their mission to the moon, let's embrace a similar kind of energy for our future," says Barbara Humpton, Siemens USA CEO. “It was humankind’s ability to discover and harness energy that created the industrial world, and got us to the moon.”
